BANGI, January 6 — Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has advised party members against attending a solidarity gathering in Putrajaya today, emphasizing that those who participate will do so at their own risk. Speaking after an event at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Zahid urged members to steer clear of the rally and stated that no Umno divisions or branches should be involved.
The rally, initially organized to show support for Datuk Seri Najib Razak ahead of his court appeal, was officially canceled earlier this week following a royal statement clarifying pardon procedures. However, groups such as PAS, Ummah, and Perkasa have vowed to proceed, prompting heightened security measures in Putrajaya.
