SEPANG, January 9 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officially launched the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign today, underscoring the importance of sustainable tourism as a driver of economic growth and community well-being. Speaking at the Malaysia Airlines Berhad Engineering Complex, Anwar stressed the need for balanced development that preserves Malaysia’s natural heritage while offering memorable experiences to visitors.

“Tourism must not only boost the economy but also enrich our environment and communities. We aim to share the economic benefits widely, from urban hubs to rural heartlands,” he said. The campaign targets 35.6 million visitors and RM147.1 billion in revenue, which Anwar described as realistic and achievable. Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing added that the Malaysia Sarong Music Run 2025, set for February 8 in Kuala Lumpur, would kickstart the initiative, promoting both heritage and healthy lifestyles.
