KUALA LUMPUR, January 20 – Starting January 17 and 20, KTM Komuter services on the Port Klang-KL Sentral-Port Klang route will operate at reduced frequencies during peak hours to accommodate the Klang Valley Double Tracking Phase 2 (KVDT2) project. Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook announced that trains will run every 30 minutes during peak hours, while buses will replace trains during off-peak hours with the same frequency.
The changes aim to improve waiting times and ensure smoother operations during the critical infrastructure project. Morning peak-hour services will focus on commuters heading towards Kuala Lumpur, while evening peak services will cater to passengers returning to Port Klang. Loke highlighted that passenger distribution statistics confirm the highest usage patterns align with these adjustments.
