KULIM, January 21 – The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and Infineon Technologies (Kulim) Sdn. Bhd. have launched a Local Vendor Development Programme aimed at empowering Malaysian companies to support the semiconductor industry’s growth. The programme, involving over 190 domestic vendors, focuses on enhancing technological capabilities and fostering a more resilient semiconductor ecosystem in Malaysia.
Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, commended the initiative as a strategic step under the National Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030, highlighting its role in advancing Malaysia’s industrial ecosystem and readiness for the AI revolution. Infineon Kulim’s Sr. Vice President Ng Kok Tiong reiterated the company’s commitment to nurturing high-value local vendors, emphasizing its significance in the context of Malaysia’s burgeoning semiconductor hub.
