PAYA TERUBONG, January 24 — In conjunction with the 2025 Chinese New Year celebrations, Paya Terubong State Assemblyman YB Wong Hon Wai distributed 500 festive food baskets to B40 senior citizens in the area. This initiative, supported by 99 Speedmart, aimed to spread joy and foster community unity.
“This effort is made possible by the generosity of 99 Speedmart, which contributed essentials like instant noodles, biscuits, coffee, and cereals. Their support has brought happiness and relief to those in need,” said Wong. The food baskets, prepared with the help of his service center team and village management committee members, were also extended to Malay and Indian residents, reflecting the inclusive spirit of Chinese New Year and promoting social harmony in Penang.
