GEORGE TOWN, January 22 — A tragic road accident early Tuesday morning claimed the life of 17-year-old Hafiz Hakimi Bin Mohd Saiful, a student of SMK Sungai Nibong. The incident occurred around 4:30 AM on the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway near the Keysight factory. Hafiz, riding a Honda C100 motorcycle registered under the name Hasly Bin Ahamad, was traveling from Georgetown toward Batu Maung when the fatal collision took place.
Initial investigations revealed that Hafiz succumbed to injuries on the spot. The exact cause of the accident and the involvement of other vehicles remain under investigation. The body has been sent to Balik Pulau Hospital for further examination. Authorities are urging witnesses to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation, which is being conducted under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
