KUALA LUMPUR, January 24 — The Malaysian government has announced a 50% toll discount in conjunction with the Lunar New Year celebrations for 2025. Effective from 12:01 a.m. on January 27 (Monday) to 11:59 p.m. on January 28 (Tuesday), the discount applies to all Class 1 private vehicles at toll plazas nationwide, except for the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) and Tanjung Kupang toll plazas at the Malaysia-Singapore border.

This initiative is expected to cost the government RM20.08 million in compensation to toll concessionaires. Minister of Works, Dato’ Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, stated that the discount aligns with the MADANI government’s commitment to fostering unity and well-being. Since 2023, the government has allocated RM356.18 million for festive toll relief efforts.

Highway users are encouraged to plan their trips wisely and use tools like the MYPLUS-TTA app to avoid congestion. The public is also advised to stay updated on traffic conditions via official channels, including LLM’s social media platforms and website.
