KUALA LUMPUR, January 30 – The Malaysian government has announced an increase in the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia by 5 sen per liter, bringing it to RM3.18 per liter for the period of January 30 to February 5, 2025. Despite the hike, the price remains lower than the RM3.35 per liter set when diesel was floated on June 10, 2024, and is still below current global market prices.
The government will continue to monitor oil price movements and adjust fuel prices accordingly to maintain market stability. Meanwhile, the retail prices of RON97 and RON95 petrol will remain unchanged at RM3.43 per liter and RM2.05 per liter, respectively. In Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan, the diesel price will also remain steady at RM2.15 per liter.
Authorities reaffirm their commitment to safeguarding public welfare by closely observing global crude oil price trends and implementing necessary measures to minimize the impact on consumers.
