KUALA LUMPUR, February 7 — The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will summon Transport Minister Anthony Loke and key individuals for a probe into the Employees Provident Fund’s (EPF) RM500 million loss linked to Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB), PAC chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin confirmed.

The proceedings, starting mid-February, will also cover MAHB’s delisting, rising airport costs, and Aerotrain delays. The move follows public concerns over EPF’s sale and repurchase of MAHB shares, which saw prices jump from RM6.74 to RM11 per unit. Mas Ermieyati emphasized PAC’s commitment to transparency, with 45 meetings scheduled in Parliament’s upcoming session, addressing issues like Kuala Lumpur land development, railway asset leasing, and rising healthcare costs.

Additionally, PAC will investigate Khazanah Nasional’s domestic investments amid concerns over financial losses. The probe underscores the government’s focus on ensuring accountability in public asset management and financial decisions affecting Malaysians.
