BAYAN LEPAS, February 4 — The annual ‘Chneah Hoay’ (Flame Watching) Ceremony at Ban Ka Lan Snake Temple unveiled a varied outlook for 2025, based on the interpretation of three flames.

The First Flame burned moderately, while the Second Flame was strong, indicating an average year ahead. However, the Third Flame remained flat, suggesting a sluggish start and potential economic concerns.

The ceremony, deeply rooted in tradition, is believed to provide insights into the fortunes of the coming year. Held on the evening of February 3, the event drew devotees and visitors who gathered to witness the ritual that reflects the cyclical nature of prosperity.

The ceremony also featured a vibrant lion dance performance, adding to the festive atmosphere and reinforcing the cultural significance of this annual celebration.
