PUTRAJAYA, February 8 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has assured that the second phase of audits on government-linked companies (GLCs) aims to enhance governance rather than single out individuals. Speaking at the launch of the initiative, he emphasized that the audits will focus on ensuring GLCs adhere to their mandates and prevent financial mismanagement without dwelling on minor technical issues.
This year, approximately 2,000 GLCs will undergo audits, marking the first use of the AI-powered e-SelfAudit system by the National Audit Department. With the recent expansion of the auditor-general’s authority to oversee 1,856 entities, the government aims to curb power abuses and reinforce accountability in state-owned enterprises.
