KUALA LUMPUR, February 15 — Malaysia is set to create over 450 high-skilled artificial intelligence (AI) engineering jobs in the next three to five years through a collaboration between the National AI Office (NAIO) and the Global AI Village (GAIV). Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo highlighted that the initiative will not only attract global talent but also nurture local expertise, positioning Malaysians as leaders in AI innovation.
The launch of the NAIO Lab marks a significant milestone in the country’s AI development, with a focus on citizen-centric AI applications in sectors like agriculture, healthcare, and transportation. The first project under the NAIO Lab, Rakan Tani, will pilot AI-driven solutions for rice farmers in Terengganu, with plans for nationwide expansion.
