MENLO PARK, February 24 – WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to link their social media profiles directly to their WhatsApp accounts. Previously available only for business accounts, this integration is now being tested for regular users, enabling them to personalize their profiles with links to platforms like Instagram.

According to WABetaInfo, the feature was discovered in a beta version of WhatsApp for iPhone and will be accessible through profile settings. While Instagram is the only option currently supported, Meta is expected to expand the feature to include other platforms like Threads and Facebook.

The linking process won’t require verification, making it a simple way for users to enhance their online presence. However, Meta may introduce safeguards before the official rollout to prevent impersonation. The feature remains optional, allowing users full control over their profile visibility.
