PUTRAJAYA, February 15 – The National Registration Department (JPN) will spearhead the MyDigital ID pre-registration process to enhance digital identity adoption nationwide, announced Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. The move, approved during the National Digital Economy and Fourth Industrial Revolution Council (MED4IRN) meeting chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, aims to streamline digital verification for Malaysians.

Saifuddin said 12-year-olds obtaining their MyKad will be automatically registered for MyDigital ID, with legal amendments planned to ensure its recognition for secure online transactions. The government initiative, first introduced in 2016, is designed to facilitate digital authentication across both public and private sectors, overcoming previous delays in its implementation.
