GEORGE TOWN, March 1 – German automation leader M.A.i GmbH & Co. KG has officially launched its new production and sales hub in Penang, marking a major step in its expansion into Southeast Asia’s growing industrial market. The state-of-the-art facility will serve as a key regional hub for automation innovation and manufacturing excellence, complementing the company’s German headquarters in Kronach.
Deputy Chief Minister II of Penang, YB Jagdeep Singh Deo, welcomed the investment, highlighting Penang’s role as a global industrial powerhouse. MIDA Deputy CEO Sivasuriyamoorthy Sundara Raja also praised the move, aligning it with Malaysia’s National Investment Aspirations (NIA) to drive economic growth and high-value job creation.
M.A.i CEOs Stefan Woldrich and Mario Michel emphasized that the expansion would boost efficiency, innovation, and regional market penetration, reinforcing Malaysia’s position as a leader in advanced manufacturing.
