KUALA LUMPUR, March 3 — PETRONAS has successfully concluded Malaysia Bid Round 2024 (MBR 2024) with the signing of 14 new Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs), including two offshore Sabah contracts awarded to INPEX, PETRONAS Carigali, and SMJ Energy.
The bid round saw participation from 12 operators across 11 Discovered Resource Opportunities (DRO) and three exploration blocks, reaffirming Malaysia’s attractiveness for upstream investment. Building on this momentum, PETRONAS has launched Malaysia Bid Round 2025 (MBR 2025) under the theme “Advancing Progress with Advantaged Energy.”
The new bid round offers five exploration blocks and three DRO clusters in strategic locations to accelerate hydrocarbon development. The virtual data room for MBR 2025 is now open, with more details available at www.petronasmbr.com.
