KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged Malaysian Muslims to embrace Ramadan as a time for spiritual renewal, justice, and kindness. He described the holy month as a spiritual training ground, encouraging believers to deepen their faith, strengthen their worship, and seek divine blessings in a world increasingly challenged by materialism and spiritual emptiness.
Anwar also highlighted Ramadan’s role in fostering social and humanitarian values, urging Malaysians to show compassion, reject oppression, and uphold justice. He emphasized that fasting is not just about abstaining from food and drink, but also about restraining greed, avoiding arrogance, and cultivating kindness. Calling for self-reflection, he encouraged Muslims to cleanse their hearts of hatred, avoid wastefulness, and seek Allah’s forgiveness for a truly meaningful Ramadan.
