GEORGE TOWN, March 6 – The Penang Police Contingent Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department successfully dismantled an MDMA drug syndicate, seizing drugs worth RM1.17 million in Jelutong.
A local man and a foreign woman, aged 32 and 42, were arrested in a series of raids that uncovered 8,474 grams of MDMA powder and 19,700 ml of MDMA-infused juice, enough for 35,000 doses. Both suspects tested positive for methamphetamine and are being held under a seven-day remand.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the death penalty or life imprisonment upon conviction.
