Apple has introduced the M3 Ultra, its most powerful chip to date, delivering up to 2.6 times the performance of the M1 Ultra. Built using Apple’s UltraFusion technology, M3 Ultra integrates two M3 Max dies with over 10,000 high-speed connections, enabling it to function as a single, unified chip. Featuring a 32-core CPU, 80-core GPU, and double the Neural Engine cores, the chip provides unparalleled speed and efficiency, making it ideal for high-intensity workflows such as AI development, 3D rendering, and advanced content creation.
M3 Ultra supports over half a terabyte of unified memory—the highest ever in a personal computer—eliminating bottlenecks for memory-intensive tasks. Additionally, it introduces Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, offering more than double the bandwidth per port compared to its predecessor. With industry-leading energy efficiency, Apple’s latest innovation is designed to power the most demanding applications while reducing environmental impact.
Johny Srouji, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies, emphasized M3 Ultra’s significance, stating, “M3 Ultra is the pinnacle of our scalable system-on-a-chip architecture, aimed specifically at users who run the most heavily threaded and bandwidth-intensive applications.” With its cutting-edge technology, Apple’s latest chip cements the company’s position at the forefront of computing innovation.
