PUTRAJAYA, March 7 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has rescheduled the questioning of former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to March 13, as he remains on medical leave, MACC chief Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed. Initially set for tomorrow, the session will now take place next Wednesday, during which Ismail Sabri is expected to provide his statement regarding an ongoing corruption and money laundering investigation.
Azam also revealed that Ismail Sabri is no longer being treated as a witness but is now a suspect in the case. The investigation follows a raid on a condominium allegedly used as a “safe house” by former officials linked to him. During the operation, RM170 million in various foreign currencies was discovered in three safes, along with 16kg of gold bullion worth nearly RM7 million. The MACC continues its probe into the source of these assets.
