KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 – Malaysia’s tax revenue reached an all-time high of RM184.8 billion in 2024, marking a RM1.46 billion increase from the previous year, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced today. Speaking at the 29th Hari Hasil celebration at the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) headquarters in Cyberjaya, Anwar credited this milestone to LHDN’s strict enforcement on tax compliance, particularly among corporate figures and high-net-worth individuals.
He praised the agency’s discipline, integrity, and structured approach, including new measures like e-invoicing, which have strengthened tax collection. Despite Malaysia providing substantial tax relieffor the B40 and M40 groups, Anwar emphasized the need for continuous improvements in revenue collection to sustain economic growth.
