BAYAN LEPAS, March 12 — The Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) unveiled the Business Events Penang 2024 Annual Review today, highlighting a RM1.29 billion boost to the state’s economy through a record 2,059 business events held throughout the year. Launched at the Iconic Marjorie Hotel, the event was officiated by Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow, PETACE Exco YB Wong Hon Wai, and PCEB CEO Mr. Ashwin Gunasekeran, who underscored Penang’s growing prominence in the regional Business Events industry.
The state saw a 240.9% surge in events, attracting 305,259 delegates and generating 558,543 room nights, reinforcing its status as a leading hub for conferences, exhibitions, and corporate gatherings. Looking ahead, PCEB aims to build on this momentum by strengthening industry collaborations, expanding promotional initiatives, and leveraging digital advancements to further position Penang as a premier global Business Events destination.
