KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 – Contrary to official statements by Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) and the National Cyber Security Agency (Nacsa), sources claim that the recent cyberattack on Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) caused significant disruptions.

According to a New Straits Times report, the attack disabled critical systems, including flight information displays, check-in counters, and baggage handling, forcing staff to revert to manual operations. The prolonged outage led to multiple flight delays, with sources highlighting the absence of a robust backup system.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed that hackers had demanded a US$10 million ransom, though the government refused to comply.
