KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 – The Digital Ministry will evaluate requests for replacement of digital devicesdamaged in the Putra Heights gas pipeline fire, announced Minister Gobind Singh Deo. Many affected residents reported the loss of laptops, internet equipment, and mobile phones in the blaze, prompting the ministry to conduct an assessment over the next two to three days.

Victims can apply for assistance through their respective MPs and assemblymen, with discussions to be held at the Cabinet level. As an initial aid measure, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has provided 500 power banks to evacuees at the Masjid Putra Heights relief center (PPS). Plans are also in place to secure more laptops and mobile devices in the next phase of support.

The fire, which broke out last Tuesday morning, has displaced 1,254 people, with 87 homes destroyed and 148 others damaged. Currently, 379 individuals from 97 families remain in temporary shelters.
