KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 – His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to strengthening ties with China, highlighting Forest City’s emergence as a strategic investment hub under China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

Speaking during a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at Istana Negara, His Majesty underscored Malaysia’s focus on deepening economic integration, boosting connectivity, and fostering industrial collaboration with China based on mutual respect and benefit.

His Majesty also expressed support for enhanced cultural and educational exchanges, citing increased student mobility and plans to promote the Sultan Ibrahim Malay Studies Chair at Beijing Foreign Studies University.

President Xi’s state visit, his first to Malaysia since 2013, comes as both nations build on 50 years of diplomatic relations, with China remaining Malaysia’s largest trading partner for 16 consecutive years.
