KUANTAN, April 21 — Sri Pahang received a timely morale boost ahead of their Malaysia Cup final clash with Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) after edging Penang FC 3-2 in their final Super League fixture at the Temerloh Municipal Council Stadium. Despite missing key players Kpah Sherman and Manuel Hidalgo, Tok Gajah secured their fourth consecutive victory, with Mykola Ahapov netting a brace, including the 87th-minute winner.

The thrilling encounter saw Sri Pahang take the lead through Ahapov in the 18th minute before Penang’s Alif Ikmal Rizal equalised early in the second half. Syazwan Andik restored the home side’s advantage in the 58th minute, only for a Stefano Brundo own goal to level things once again. However, Ahapov’s late strike ensured Sri Pahang ended their league campaign on a high, setting the stage for a confident showdown with JDT in the upcoming Malaysia Cup final.
