KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 – The Uniformed Workers Unions of Pos Malaysia have issued an official statement addressing a recent viral incident involving Group CEO Charles Brewer’s response to a staff inquiry about new uniform supplies. The unions clarified that Brewer’s remarks were not intended to belittle any staff member and confirmed that he has since acknowledged the misunderstanding.
Citing his strong track record of staff engagement and problem-solving, the unions expressed full support for his leadership and called for the matter not to be sensationalised further. On the issue of delayed uniform distribution, the unions explained that the delay stems from ongoing improvements in material and quality to ensure greater comfort and suitability.
As an interim solution, Pos Malaysia will distribute company jerseys, while also committing to enhance frontline safety with additional provisions such as safety shoes and gloves. The unions praised this proactive approach and reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration with management for the welfare of all staff.
