KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 — The Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) is calling on senior citizens with at least one chronic or comorbid condition to seize the opportunity to receive a free influenza vaccination under the ongoing Elderly Influenza Immunisation Programme. Since its launch on February 18, over 59% of eligible individuals have been vaccinated, with 57,093 appointment slots still available at 649 selected government health clinics nationwide until the end of August 2025.
The vaccine is offered free of charge and covers the cost of the vaccine, medical equipment, and related healthcare services. Appointments can be made via the MySejahtera app, or seniors may visit participating clinics for walk-in registration, subject to availability. The MOH urges elderly patients visiting clinics for chronic disease follow-ups to inquire about their eligibility for the programme, aiming to reduce severe complications and hospital admissions among high-risk groups during the flu season.
