PETALING JAYA, April 28 — The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (Miti) has initiated an internal investigation into claims that it used a creative agency’s concept for the Malaysia Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka without proper credit or compensation.

The ministry said it is taking the matter seriously following a viral social media post by creative professional Fey Ilyas, who alleged that the agency’s design, narrative, and architectural direction were used without acknowledgement.

In a statement today, Miti confirmed that it is thoroughly reviewing the allegations and reaffirmed its commitment to integrity and legal compliance. While it did not name the parties involved, Miti said it reserves all legal rights and will take necessary legal action if required.

The original Instagram post by Fey highlighted how the agency’s work was instrumental in shaping Malaysia’s Expo presentation, but was ultimately used without credit, prompting concerns over exploitation and lack of transparency in government dealings.
