GEORGE TOWN, April 30 – The Ministry of Digital marked a major milestone in Malaysia’s digital talent development with the official launch of 42 Penang, officiated by Minister of Digital, YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo. The new campus, located at Wisma Yeap Chor Ee, aims to provide inclusive, tuition-free digital education to empower Malaysians of all backgrounds to become highly skilled digital professionals.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader push to build and retain a robust digital workforce under the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint and other national strategies. Speaking at the launch, YB Gobind highlighted the urgent need to address talent outflow and equip the workforce for emerging sectors like AI, automation, and digital services.

He praised 42 Malaysia and Sunway Education Group for their role in democratizing access to tech education and called on industry players to collaborate with institutions like 42 to shape future-ready talents. “ To the students of 42 Penang, you are not just learning — you are helping to build a digital Malaysia,” he said.
