GEORGE TOWN, April 30 — The Penang Hill Festival (PHF2025) is back for its sixth edition, promising a vibrant three-day celebration from 18 to 20 July 2025. Organised by Penang Hill Corporation (PHC), this much-anticipated event showcases the hill’s rich heritage, biodiversity, and cultural legacy through over 70 curated programmes including workshops, exhibitions, musical showcases, discovery walks, and expert talks.

With the theme “See the Nature, Feel the History”, PHF2025 aims to deepen public appreciation of Penang Hill, part of the Penang Hill Biosphere Reserve (PHBR). Among the major highlights is Music on the Hill – East Meets West, a musical fusion showcase happening for the first time at the historic Bellevue Hotel on 20 July.

Featuring top local talents such as the Penang Jazz Society, Penang Dhol Blasters, Wak Long Music & Art Centre, Shuang 樉, and Persona Ritma, the evening promises an unforgettable blend of East and West musical traditions. The festival also premieres the documentary Rising Above: Penang Hill’s Revival, spotlighting the hill’s recovery after the 2017 landslides.

Nature enthusiasts can look forward to themed discovery walks and specialist-led explorations, including mushroom, night, and junior rainforest tours, while photography lovers can join Canon Malaysia’s exclusive workshops. With an expected turnout of over 25,000 visitors, PHF2025 cements its place as a premier eco-cultural festival in Malaysia.

PHC encourages the public to arrive early, use sustainable transport, and consider volunteering when registration opens in May.
