PASIR GUDANG, May 27 — Oryx Stainless Group has officially opened its latest flagship facility in Johor, Malaysia, reinforcing its role in the global circular economy and advancing the country’s green industrial ambitions.

The Netherlands-based firm’s new site, inaugurated in the presence of Johor Menteri Besar Dato’ Onn Hafiz Bin Ghazi and senior officials, is expected to process 150,000 tonnes of recycled stainless steel annually—potentially cutting nearly 1 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.

The facility exemplifies Oryx’s long-term commitment to sustainable industrial transformation and talent development in Malaysia. CEO Tobias Kämmer emphasized the investment as a pledge to shared prosperity and low-carbon innovation.

While MIDA CEO Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim highlighted its alignment with the MADANI Government’s green policies. With a fully digitised, climate-conscious production process and strong university partnerships, Oryx is positioning Johor as a hub for high-skill jobs and green manufacturing leadership in Asia.
