TAWAU, May 11 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for stronger cooperation between the Federal and Sabah state governments to ensure meaningful development and improved living standards for the people of Sabah.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Sabah Madani Rakyat Programme 2025, Anwar warned against divisive politics and urged leaders to focus on unity, infrastructure, and addressing key issues such as water, electricity, education, and healthcare.
Anwar highlighted that the Madani Government has implemented 144 development projects in Sabah worth RM14 billion, including key initiatives like the Pan Borneo Highway, the Tawau Hospital upgrade, and the Madani Solar programme.
He also announced a RM10 million allocation to upgrade local markets, calling it a gift to hardworking mothers on Mother’s Day. Emphasising practical leadership, Anwar challenged all current leaders to prioritise the people’s welfare over political rhetoric and to act while entrusted with power.
