KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 — Maxim Malaysia has issued a formal clarification in response to a recent report alleging it was ordered to cease operations in Malaysia due to regulatory breaches. The company affirmed that it continues to operate nationwide and is currently engaged in constructive discussions with relevant authorities to resolve the matter promptly while maintaining transparency and the trust of its users, partners, and stakeholders.
Since its launch in 2019, Maxim Malaysia has prioritized public safety and regulatory compliance, operating with an intermediate license while ensuring all Partner-drivers meet standards set by the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) and the Ministry of Transport (MOT). The platform conducts rigorous checks on drivers and supports them in obtaining PSV licenses in collaboration with driving schools and the Road Transport Department (JPJ).
Maxim Malaysia also emphasized its role in supporting the digital economy and promoting inclusivity through its tech-enabled services, including OKU-friendly features. The company reiterated its commitment to legal compliance, cooperation with the Malaysian government, and ongoing investment in digital infrastructure to strengthen the country’s e-hailing sector.
