In celebration of Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Apple has released new videos highlighting key accessibility features coming in iOS 19 and macOS 16. Shared via its official YouTube channels, the videos showcase innovations like the new Magnifier on Mac and enhanced Music Haptics on iPhone—tools designed to empower users with visual and hearing impairments.
The Magnifier on Mac feature, demonstrated in a classroom setting, allows users to utilize the iPhone’s camera to zoom in on distant content and stream it directly to their Mac via Continuity Camera. Users can create multiple customized viewing windows with adjustable brightness and contrast filters, enabling more accessible and dynamic multitasking.
This builds on the iPhone’s existing Magnifier function, bringing it to a wider computing environment. Meanwhile, Apple Music’s new video puts the spotlight on Music Haptics, a feature originally introduced in iOS 18 to help deaf and hard-of-hearing users feel music through vibrations.
With iOS 19, the feature expands to include more personalization—users will be able to choose between haptic feedback for full songs or vocals only, and adjust the intensity to their preference. These updates reflect Apple’s continued commitment to inclusive design and accessibility for all users.
