KUALA LUMPUR, June 5 — Police have confirmed that the body discovered in a lift shaft at a partially constructed condominium in Bangsar is that of Jordan Johnson-Doyle, a 25-year-old British national reported missing on June 2.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said the identification was made by a relative based on a distinctive tattoo, while a post-mortem revealed the cause of death as a chest injury from a fall, with no signs of foul play.

Johnson-Doyle, a software engineer on a solo backpacking tour of Southeast Asia, was last known to be at Healy Mac’s Irish Bar in Bangsar on May 27. He had arrived in Malaysia from Vietnam on May 17 and was working remotely while travelling.

Police are treating the case as a sudden death and have urged the public not to speculate, calling for anyone with information to assist in the investigation.
