KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 – Maxis has reaffirmed its commitment to data privacy following the Malaysia Communications and Multimedia Commission’s (MCMC) recent statement on the Mobile Phone Data collection initiative.

In a media release today, Maxis clarified that the initiative involves no access to, processing of, or sharing of personally identifiable information. The telco explained that all data involved is anonymised and processed in aggregate within a secure environment, ensuring full compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
