KUALA LUMPUR, June 12 — Transport Minister Anthony Loke has announced the immediate and permanent revocation of a bus operator’s permit involved in the recent Gerik crash, citing serious violations including unauthorized leasing of the permit and failure to activate the vehicle’s GPS.
The operator, based in Kedah, had leased the permit to a Kelantan party for RM500 monthly—an action Loke described as a breach of licensing terms. He also confirmed that no appeal will be permitted.
Separately, a preliminary report on the Teluk Intan crash involving nine FRU policemen will be released tomorrow to promote transparency and road safety reform.
