ROME, June 30 — The World Skateboarding Tour 2025 lit up the Eternal City with an electrifying display of action sports as Rome hosted the WST World Cup finals under the iconic shadow of the Colosseum.

In a historic win, Australian prodigy Chloe Covell clinched her first-ever WST title after years of near-misses, while Japan’s Sora Shirai delivered a masterclass in style and technical perfection, cementing his legacy with two flawless runs and an unbeatable Best Trick performance.

With over 150 skaters from 45 countries competing across both Olympic disciplines—Park and Street—Rome became the global epicentre of skateboarding for two thrilling weeks. The crowd witnessed a dramatic shake-up in the women’s division with Spain’s Daniela Terol making her first final and the surprising absence of Brazil’s Rayssa Leal.

As Japan continued to dominate with five of eight female finalists, the level of progression and creativity remained sky-high. The WST now heads to Washington, D.C. for the highly anticipated World Championships this September.
