GEORGE TOWN, June 28 — Cambodia Airways celebrated the successful launch of its inaugural direct flight from Phnom Penh to Penang today, greeted with a ceremonial water salute, cultural performances, and welcome gifts for passengers at Penang International Airport.
Operating twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, the new route enhances connectivity between two UNESCO-listed cities, promising a boost in tourism, business travel, and bilateral ties. With over 1.7 million passengers flown since its founding in 2017.
Cambodia Airways continues its rapid expansion, now connecting Phnom Penh to 22 destinations. The Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) and Penang State EXCO for Tourism lauded the new link, anticipating greater business events and leisure travel from Cambodia and beyond.
