KUALA LUMPUR, June 30 — Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd is rolling out four new zones under its Rapid KL On-Demand service starting Monday, extending coverage to the Kuala Lumpur Central Business District (CBD), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Kelana Jaya-Taman SEA, and Gombak-IIUM corridors.

The move is designed to address first- and last-mile connectivity issues, particularly in congested urban and educational zones, offering commuters flexible, micro-mobility options with rides priced at just RM1.

With nine dedicated vans serving KL’s Golden Triangle and additional vehicles targeting campuses and residential areas, the service runs daily from 6 am to 11.30 pm through the Rapid On-Demand app.

Prasarana’s Chief Operating Officer Amir Hamdan said this expansion reflects a step closer to deploying all 300 vans by July 2025, aligning with efforts to create a more sustainable and inclusive transit ecosystem in the Klang Valley.
