PUTRAJAYA, July 4 — The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has confirmed that Ramly Burger and an ice supplier have agreed to postpone their planned price hikes following a meeting with ministry officials.

Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said both companies were advised to consult the KPDN Enforcement Division before implementing any adjustments and must now submit justifications under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011.

The move follows viral claims that Ramly Burger would raise prices by 10 per cent and that Sim Yang Hok Industries would hike ice block prices from RM3.70 to RM6.

Both companies denied any link between the increases and the revised Sales and Services Tax (SST), with the ice supplier lodging a police report against the misinformation. Armizan assured that KPDN will continue to monitor price movements to prevent undue consumer burden.
