BUKIT MERTAJAM, July 23 — Nazim’s final wish was to give his elderly mother, Mak Embun, a safe and comfortable home. Despite his own health struggles after suffering a stroke in April, Nazim had long dreamed of repairing their dilapidated house.
With help from Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim, urgent renovations were completed in just one week — just in time for Nazim to return home and share three precious days with his mother before his passing.
Steven Sim, who personally stepped in to cover outstanding renovation costs, visited Mak Embun to offer condolences and deliver RM3,000 in funeral aid from PERKESO.
He assured the family that Nazim, a PERKESO contributor, would continue to care for his mother through a monthly survivor’s pension. A new bathroom will also be built for Mak Embun’s comfort.
“Nazim can rest in peace knowing his dream for his mother came true, even if only for a moment,” said Sim.
