KUALA LUMPUR, July 27 – Sony today unveiled the ECM-778, a premium shotgun microphone designed for high-resolution audio recording in professional film, drama, and documentary production. Despite its compact size (176mm, 102g), the ECM-778 delivers exceptional directivity and clarity across a wide frequency range, capturing consistent, cinema-quality sound even in tight spaces.
Developed in collaboration with award-winning sound engineers, it features a precision brass acoustic tube, advanced circuit design, and dual wind screens for varied environments. In addition, Sony introduced two new CFexpress Type A memory cards – the CEA-G1920T (1920GB) and CEA-G960T (960GB) – alongside the MRW-G3 card reader.
These CFexpress 4-compatible models offer blazing-fast read speeds over 1800 MB/s and meet the VPG400 standard for stable 400MB/s video capture, supporting high-speed shooting and large-file workflows. Built to the TOUGH spec, the cards also provide drop, bend, dust, and water resistance (IP57), while the reader ensures efficient data transfer with USB 40Gbps support.
All new products, including the ECM-778 microphone and CFexpress memory solutions, will be available in Malaysia starting August 2025. With this launch, Sony reinforces its commitment to empowering content creators with premium audio and storage tools optimized for professional-grade production.
