KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 — Qatar Airways has become the first airline globally to fully equip and operate over 50 Boeing 777 widebody aircraft with Starlink internet, delivering Wi-Fi speeds of up to 500 Mbps — free for all passengers.

Completed in just nine months, the installation programme outpaced its original timeline by nearly 50%, setting a new industry benchmark for in-flight connectivity. The Doha-based carrier now leads the world in Starlink-equipped long-haul aircraft and is the only airline in the MENA region offering the service.

With over 15,000 Starlink-powered flights since its launch in October 2024, Qatar Airways is now focusing on rolling out the high-speed Wi-Fi to its Airbus A350 fleet, continuing its mission to redefine global travel connectivity.
