PERMATANG PAUH, July 20 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has hinted at a major announcement aimed at tackling the rising cost of living, expected to be revealed by Tuesday, if not earlier.

Speaking at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Penang today, he said the Finance Ministry is fine-tuning proposals that could offer immediate relief to Malaysians. Acknowledging public anticipation, Anwar assured that the government is carefully weighing solutions that balance the people’s needs.

With the country’s financial capacity, especially amid ongoing support programmes like the Rahmah Cash Contribution (STR) and civil servant salary hikes. “Pray for the best,” he told the crowd, urging patience for what is expected to be a significant and inclusive initiative.
