KUALA LUMPUR, July 20 — Fugitive financier Low Taek Jho, or Jho Low, believed to be the mastermind behind the 1MDB scandal, has allegedly resurfaced in Shanghai under the alias Constantinos Achilles Veis.
According to investigative journalists Bradley Hope and Tom Wright of Project Brazen, Low is reportedly residing in the exclusive Green Hills neighbourhood and using a fake Australian passport, enabling him to travel freely within China.
In a livestream titled Finding Jho Low, the duo claimed Low is now operating as a behind-the-scenes strategist for Chinese government-linked entities, helping sanctioned companies navigate global challenges.
While these revelations provide the most detailed account of Low’s whereabouts in years, Malaysian and Chinese authorities have yet to confirm his location.
