KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 — The rationalisation of RON95 fuel subsidies has been postponed to allow for further policy refinements, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil announced today.

He said the delay comes after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stressed that no policy should negatively impact the majority of Malaysians.

Speaking at Parliament, Fahmi explained that the government is taking the same careful approach as it did with previous measures such as diesel subsidy reforms and SST expansion, ensuring all implementations are reviewed to minimise hardship.

The RON95 subsidy rationalisation, originally slated for the second half of 2025, remains under review as the government works to improve its delivery mechanism.
