PUTRAJAYA, July 25 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has dismissed the impact of the upcoming #TurunAnwar rally, saying calls for his resignation carry no weight with the next general election still over two years away.
Speaking at the Finance Ministry’s monthly assembly, Anwar said such political noise would not derail his focus on implementing policies to support Malaysians in need. He defended the recently announced RM100 one-off aid for all citizens aged 18 and above, stressing its significance for low-income communities.
“It may not matter to those earning RM20,000, but for families in the villages, every ringgit counts,” he said, adding that the aid complements other support measures like STR and i-Sara, potentially giving a household of four an extra RM400.
