PUTRAJAYA, July 25 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today unveiled the Sejahtera Madani 2025 initiative, a national poverty reduction programme focused on uplifting poor and hardcore poor households listed under the eKasih database.
Coordinated by the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU), the initiative adopts a “whole of nation” strategy targeting income, education, housing, and welfare improvements. The programme consolidates government, private sector, and civil society aid into a unified support system.
With RM100 million in expected CSR contributions channelled into the People’s Wellbeing Fund, donors will also benefit from tax deductions. The government aims to cut the national poverty rate by 33 per cent this year through the initiative.
